Why Your Scheduler Infrastructure Needs a Control Plane
From one server to many
Every application starts simple. You have one server running a scheduler with a handful of background jobs. Monitoring is easy — you check the server, read the logs, and move on.
Then the application grows. You add more servers for redundancy. You deploy to multiple environments — development, staging, production. You add more teams, each with their own functions. Suddenly you have dozens of scheduler nodes across multiple environments, and the simple approach doesn't scale anymore.
The missing abstraction
Modern infrastructure has control planes for everything. Kubernetes is a control plane for containers. Terraform is a control plane for cloud resources. Even your CI/CD pipeline is a control plane for deployments.
But most teams have no control plane for their schedulers. They have raw compute nodes running schedulers with no centralized way to:
